Driver John MacDonald manufactured another dominant night at the office on Thursday thanks to a six-win performance at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

After enjoying a career year in 2009 with 411 wins and more than $1.9 in purse earnings, MacDonald kicked off the card with a 2:01.1 score behind Chip Dot Com. The square gaiter drew clear to win by more than a pair of lengths in the opening division of the Full Of Trot Trotting Series.

The resident of Russell, Ontario has notched 45 wins so far this season while banking in excess of $222,000 along the way. The career winner of 1,714 races has banked more than $8.4 million over the course of his career.

As mentioned above, Chip Dot Com (2:01.1) drew first blood in the Full Of Trot Trotting Series. Other divisional winners were Stormont Romance (2:02.3) and An Angel For Earl (2:01.2).

Horses were required to race for $6,500 claiming tags in the opening leg, but the price will jump to $7,800 for next Thursday’s second round. The $12,500 (added) final is scheduled for Friday, March 26 at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
