ESPN.com is reporting Delaware Governor Jack Markell is preparing to introduce a proposal to legalize sports betting.
If approved by the state legislature, sports betting could be implemented sometime this fall. The same proposal was axed in state legislature last year when governor Ruth Ann Minner said she’d veto a resulting bill.
If legalized, sports betting would help the state to dig out of a $700 million budget deficit.
