Moments Of Joy dominated in the Winners Over/Select Pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday night (March 10).
Moments Of Joy left sharply at the start of the race but was parked to the quarter by My Kiwi Lady N, who eventually settled in the pocket. Driver Victor Kirby had the hammer down as he hustled Moments Of Joy to the quarter in a blistering :26.3 before slowing to the half in :55.2.
Early pressure was applied by a first up Infinite Symbol A as the field passed in front of the stands in tiers, towards the halfway mark. Anytime N shadowed second over on the rim. Sassass Sister was third over.
Infinite Symbol A continued her assault on pacesetter Moments Of Joy as they reached the three-quarters as a team in 1:22.4. In the stretch, Kirby and Moments Of Joy went into another gear and won in 1:50 by three lengths, establishing a lifetime mark.
Moments Of Joy is owned and trained by Bryan Truitt.
Kiwi Lady N took advantage of the pocket trip and finished second for trainer Chris Scicluna and driver Ross Wolfenden. Sassas Sister closed from sixth and finished third for her trainer Jim Porter. Tim Tetrick was in the bike.
