Terror Of The Nite pulled the pocket down the backside but needed to survive a late challenge to capture his second straight in the Walter Russell Memorial Pace at The Meadows.

Wok N Roll K and Big World Of Rock also took $12,000 splits in Tuesday’s second leg of the series for three- and four-year-old colt, stallion and gelding pacers. Dave Palone teamed with trainer Ron Burke for a pair of Russell wins with Terror Of The Nite and Big World of Rock.

Terror Of The Nite easily cleared to the lead when Palone moved him to the front, but Heavenly Knox was gaining ground on a sustained first-over bid. That tough journey in the slop took its tool on Heavenly Knox, and Terror Of The Nite prevailed by 1/2 length in 1:56. Well Bred earned show.

Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phillip Collura campaign Terror Of The Nite, a four-year-old Western Terror-Her Odyssey gelding.

In the $18,000 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot, Anaffairtoremember opened a four-length lead and held on late to down the onrushing Sweetie Hearts by a head in 1:57. Long shot Ajuama completed the ticket. Aaron Merriman piloted the five-year-old daughter of Angus Hall-Val Lee Woman, who extended her career bankroll to $313,097, for owner/trainer Bill Bercury.

Palone drove four winners and Merriman three on the 14-race card.
