Another Sunday Triple For Copley

For the second consecutive Sunday card of harness racing at Rideau Carleton Raceway, Ottawa's leading conditioner Jamie Copley scored a training triple.

Copley took over the top spot on the local leaderboard with his training triple last weekend, but Rene Allard tied up the standings during Thursday's program and took the lead early Sunday with a victory in the opener. However, Copley reclaimed sole ownership of the leading role with another three victories. He now has 22 wins on the year and is on the nation's top 10 list for most training tallies.

Copley's Sunday winners were Lets Make Ideal ($27.50) in race seven, Seagram ($11.30) in race nine and the streaking Dirt Track Momma ($2.20) in race 11. All three winners were driven by Stephane Gendron and owned in whole or part by the Copley Stables. Prince Edward Island's Jonah Moase also shares ownership of Seagram.

In addition to Gendron, Per Henriksen drove three winners on the card.
