She needed multiple moves to achieve it, but Cays Blessing collected her fourth straight victory in Wednesday’s (Feb. 9) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $10,300 conditioned pace for fillies and mares.
Cays Blessing grabbed the early lead from post 5, but was shuffled slightly to third. She reclaimed the top with an uncovered backside burst but even then wasn’t home free, as she was challenged in the lane by All Day Sunshine and Leave Her Wild. But the eight-year-old daughter of Western Ideal and Lifes Blessings persevered for Dave Palone and triumphed in 1:53. All Day Sunshine was second, beaten a length, with Leave Her Wild third.
Scott Betts trains Cays Blessing, who extended her career bankroll to $260,874, for Tim Betts and Tar Heel Racing.
Aaron Merriman piloted four winners on the 11-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (Feb. 10), when the 11-race program features a pair of carryovers: $2,883.73 in the Jackpot Pick-5 (races 4-8) and $2,763.23 in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
