Driver Pascal Berube and trainer Rachel Archer dominated on the opening card of the 2020 season at Rideau Carleton Raceway, as Berube notched five victories and Archer three during the Sunday (Feb. 9) card.

Berube began his evening with Blackjack Soleil ($6.70) popping pocket to win the third race and returned to the winner’s circle two races later with a wire-to-wire effort by Macktwowilldew ($4.30). Following that race, Berube completed a natural hat trick with Archer trainee Hopes Solo ($3.40) and Matts Tuition ($6.70). Berube won his final race on the night in the last race on the card, teaming again with Archer to get Mach Messier ($2.40) to the winner’s circle. Between the pair, Archer scored a victory with Richard Simard at the helm behind Bank Shot Hanover ($4.70) in the ninth race.
