Trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt continued winning races this year at an incredible rate on Friday (February 8) at Fraser Downs with success in eight of the evening's 11 races.

After opening the card with a runner-up finish aboard his own trainee Northfield Nellie, Hoerdt reeled off five consecutive wins.

His streak began in the second race courtesy of Nogardeo ($2.70), who won his debut from the Jeffery Waltenburgh barn by three-quarters of a length.

Driven by Jim Marino, Cusdmagicdragon ($4.20) then topped the Open mares for Hoerdt, winning the $12,000 feature in 1:54.2 by three-quarters of a length over Thats It and stablemate Blue Grotto.

Betterbegoodtome ($9.50) was up next making her first start under the care of trainer Chris Lancaster, who was named the 2018 Future Star Award winner at last weekend's O'Brien Awards. Hoerdt was in the bike for her half-length victory.

Trained by Clinton Warrington, Hanks Mystress ($4.50) also came out on top in a half-length decision and earned her third win in a row with Hoerdt doing the honours.

Hailing from Hoerdt's stable, repeat winner Outlaw Kismet ($2.80) prevailed by three-quarters of a length in the following race to give the hot-handed horseman his fifth triumph on the card.

Two races later, Hoerdt was back at it winning with the Brent Bodor-trained Cowgirl Poker ($6.30) by two lengths and Dont Be A Glenda ($10.10) by a half-length. Bodor went on to make it three wins in a row with Travis Bowman driving Town Speaker in a rare race with a Hoerdt hiatus.

The final race ended in a 1-2 finish for the Hoerdt stable as Hot Kiss ($9.90), driven by David Hudon, held off Lively Rocket and her trainer by a nose.

In total, Hoerdt added six driving wins and three training triumphs to his 2019 record. He currently boasts a nation-leading URS in each category (0.752 for training and 0.522 for driving) and tops all trainers in Canada for wins with 26 on the year.
