After getting blanked in her first two starts of the season, Moosette returned to Monday’s Fillies & Mares Open Pace and came away victorious in the $10,000 featured event.
One of three winners sent out on the eight-race card by trainer Jim Marino, the five-year-old daughter of Hes Watching-Legal Suspensory rallied to win in 1:53.3 over race favourite Uptown Hanover. Rockin Mystery set the speed throughout before weakening late and finishing a lapped-on third.
Brandon Campbell engineered the winning trip with Moosette for the owner/breeder Shale Stables of Merritt, BC. It was her first victory of the year, it was the 13th of her career. She’s banked more than $90,000 to date.
Jim Marino also nabbed wins on the abbreviated program with Western Summit (1:55) and Sam The Cat (1:55.1).
