Hanover Shoe Farms announces that the 2022 book for trotting stallion Bar Hopping is now full and closed.
From his very first crop, Bar Hopping was 2021’s leading sire of three-year-old trotters by average earnings per start with $60,051 per start — $13,000 ahead of Chapter Seven and $28,000 ahead of Muscle Hill. Bar Hopping was the second leading sire of three-year-old trotters by total earnings — behind Chapter Seven (with 24 fewer foals) and ahead of Muscle Hill.
From this initial crop of just 61 foals, Bar Hopping is the sire of 2021 Hambletonian Oaks Winning Bella Bellini (3, 1:52.1 $1,115,898), 2021 Yonkers Trot Winning Johan Palema (3, 1:50.4 $591,583), as well as stakes winners In Range (3, 1:51.4 $793,037) and Pub Crawl (3, 1:54f $489,545).
Bar Hopping’s second crop was headlined by Date Night (2, 1:50.4 $143,325), last year’s fastest two-year-old trotter regardless of sex. Other notable 2021 two-year-olds by Bar Hopping include S I P (1:53.4, $262,682), Parola Hanover (1:55f $187,201) and Keg Stand (1:53.3, $177,766).
