Thisbigdogwilfight unleashed a large charge the back of the bus in his Saturday evening assignment at The Meadowlands, and in doing so picked up weekly bragging rights in the $35,000 Invitational Pace.
Winless in his first three starts of the season, the six-year-old son of The Big Dog trailed his pacing peers while the well-known speedster Race Track Ruler rolled the field through hot panels of :27, :54.3 and 1:23.
Driver Tim Tetrick angled Thisbigdogwilfight into a clear path at the head of the lane, and the gelding used a :26.3 closing quarter to get the job done in convincing fashion. Sent off at odds of 17-1, Thisbigdogwilfight defeated Western Shore and Race Track Ruler.
James Eaton conditions the career winner of $584,258 for Illinois partners Michael McNeely and Redbud Stable.
