Fans at Flamboro Downs love Buttermilk Hanover, and Buttermilk Hanover seems to be just as fascinated with Flamboro Downs.

The seven-year-old daughter of Badlands Hanover-Bet Me Hanover, who has picked up multiple wins over Canada’s fastest half-mile oval over the years, chalked up another one on Thursday thanks to her sharp effort in the $10,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Handicap for pacers.

Robert Shepherd rolled Buttermilk Hanover to the lead from Post 4 and together they carved out the opening quarter in :27.4. Amethyst Seelster pocket popped on the way to the half and she quickly cleared to the top. She hit the half in :57 while feeling pressure from the parked out Top Royal.

Amethyst Seelster was still in charge at the three-quarter marker in 1:25.4, but the pressure of Top Royal eventually got to her. Buttermilk Hanover, who witnessed the back-half battle between those two found late clearance and used a :30-second closing panel to win by three-quarters of a length over a dead game Top Royal in 1:56. Outlaw Imahotvixen came on late to finish third.

Melissa Lamoureux trains the distaffer for 8113564 Canada Ltd and Jeff Boyd. It was her second win of the season and the 25th of her career. She pushed her lifetime earnings over $330,000 with the win.

Three Accounts got the best of even-money favourite Filly Forty Seven in the $8,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 for pacers.

Austin Sorrie got away third with Three Accounts while Dazzling Rockette shot to the top and carved out fractions of :29.1 and :59.3. Three Accounts was first over on the way to the half, and she brushed to the lead in the backstretch. She led the group to the three-quarter pole in 1:27.4 and then used a :29-second final frame to win by a pair of lengths over Filly Forty Seven in 1:56.4. SOS Bambie took home the show dough.

Rob Fellows trains the five-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Accountable for Hutt Racing Stable, Yolanda Fellows and Patrick Dillon. It was the second win of the year for the 11-time winner who pushed her earnings over $67,000 with the victory.
