Direct Competition For Lebanon?

Lebanon Raceway co-owner Keith Nixon Jr. has gone on the record in regard to the possibility of increased competition for the Ohio racetrack. Nixon's remarks have come after Penn National Gaming, Inc. announced that it is planning on relocating its Raceway Park to Dayton

.

Penn National had previously proposed to relocate its Beulah Park thoroughbred operation to Dayton and Raceway Park to Youngstown, but those plans have now switched.

“For VLTs (video lottery terminals) to provide meaningful economic support for Ohio’s fragile economy, it’s important that each track meets its full potential," Nixon was quoted as saying in a report by the Middletown Journal. "Creating unnecessary competition between tracks would be counterproductive to meeting these goals.”
