Lifestream Mindale dug down deep on Friday night at Flamboro Downs to record his sixth consecutive victory in the $6,400 tenth race.
The 11-year-old Life Sign gelding won the Robert Simpson Pacing Series to close out the 2008 season at Georgian Downs and hasn’t missed a beat since moving to Flamboro’s half-mile oval.
Priced at $8,500 for owner Gerrie Tucker and trainer Bill Robinson, the veteran utilized his early gate speed for driver Mike Langdon, getting to the front in :29. Lifestream Mindale was under siege, however, from Rights Adviser (Jean Rene Plante) and those two battled through fractions of :58.3 and 1:27.1.
Lifestream Mindale used his inside advantage around the final turn and turned back Rights Adviser, but was not out of the woods yet as Fox Valley Carmelo (Scott Coulter) arrived on the scene. Unfortunately for that rival, the wire came and Lifestream Mindale hung on for a quarter-length win in 1:57.3. Cheyenne Harvey (Rob Shepherd) was third.
Now four-for-four this season, Lifestream Mindale posted his 58th lifetime win. The gelding has career earnings of $263,144.
