It has been reported that firefighters in Kentucky are suspecting that a lit candle at a training centre is to blame for a two-alarm blaze that required the services of more than 60 firefighters and 32 units during the morning of Wednesday, February 4.
A report by WKYT has cited firefighters as saying that a burning candle sparked the flames at The Thoroughbred Center, a horse boarding and training farm in Lexington, Kentucky that is affiliated with Keeneland.
Reports state that while a firefighter and woman were treated for smoke inhalation, no equine or human lives were lost in the blaze.
The WKYT report states that the fire partially destroyed a building that houses a tack shop, leather shop, the chaplain’s office and a two-bedroom apartment.
