The Miss Vera Bars Pacing Series continued at Woodbine Racetrack on Thursday evening, with two sets of three-year-old pacing fillies squaring off in the second leg of the three-week event

.

Tonight’s action saw Mylittlerebel, who was a 1:56.4 winner in her division one week ago, make a round trip to victory lane while Bath Beach used a strong stretch kick to pull off an upset in the second split.

Mylittlerebel worked her way into a three-hole trip in the early stages of tonight’s assignment for driver Randy Waples, who shot the Camluck miss to the front as soon as the field entered the backstretch.

The Murray Brethour pupil clicked off middle splits of :59.3 and 1:28.2 before scooting home in :28.2 for the 1:56.4 decision. Sent off as the 3-5 favourite in the six-filly affair, Mylittlerebel defeated CC Dreamer and Real Heart.

Stephen Scarff and Turnkey Stables share ownership on the four-time winner, who now boasts $36,540 in career earnings.

Bath Beach pulled off a 13-1 upset in the second MVB tilt for the duo of trainer Dean Nixon and driver Chris Christoforou.

The Life Sign filly, who got away next to last in the six-horse affair, worked out a second over trip to the head of the lane before uncorking a :28.1 final frame to seal the deal in a career-best clocking of 1:56.4.

Even money favourite Wish All You Want set the pace and finished a half-length back in second. Artists Dynast, who was a winner in week one of the series, had to settle for third after sitting a pocket trip throughout.

Iris & Harry Horowitz of Brooklyn, NY share ownership on the pacer with Mary Friest of Windsor, ON. The connections watched the youngster find the winner’s circle for just the second time in her career.

The $46,300 final of the Miss Vera Bars Pacing Series is scheduled to be contested next Thursday evening at Woodbine Racetrack.
