It has been reported that Meadowlands Racetrack operator Jeff Gural was less than impressed with the National Football League in his dealings with the organization leading up to Sunday’s Super Bowl.
An article by John Brennan in The Bergen Record has quoted Gural as saying that Super Bowl Host Committee President Al Kelly was “a pleasure to work with,” but that he received no favours from the NFL.
According to the report, Gural knew that the racetrack would lose three live race dates due to Super Bowl festivities, but the article has quoted Gural as saying that the NFL “asked me to let them use the track for an extra four days, which eliminated two additional racing dates.”
Gural went on to say, “I did this as a favor, which was stupid because any favor I asked of them was rejected.”
