Fresh off a record breaking season in 2009, two-time O’Brien Award winner Jody Jamieson returned to his winning ways on Wednesday at Flamboro Downs. Making his
second 2010 appearance at the Dundas half-mile oval, Jamieson captured five of the 14 races on the afternoon card.
Jamieson scored his first win of the day with Empire Volo (2:02.3) for trainer Laetici Maslia in the fifth race. He then went on a three-race win streak beginning in the ninth race with Kody Classic (1:57.2) for Dominic Agostino, St Lads Onyx (1:57.1) for Les Fuller, and Lexilowguy (1:57.4) for Pat Fletcher before closing out the card with one more victory aboard the James Robblee pupil Fulla Camotion (1:58.3).
The resident of Cambridge, Ont. now has eight wins on the year good for over $58,000 in purses. In 2009, he won 787 of his 796 wins in Canada to set a national single season win record and earned over $11.5 million in purses. Jamieson now boasts 5,080 wins lifetime with earnings in excess of $66 million.
