Fraser Downs kicked off its 2025 racing season with a bang as Stonebridge Jade delivered at 25-1 shocker in the $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace, which highlighted the eight-race card on Thursday, Feb. 27.

Leaving from the rail with driver Allan Molloy, Stonebridge Jade landed in the pocket early while Outlaw Spiced Rum (Rod Therres) sprinted to the lead through a hot opening quarter of :26.3. The field remained single-file to the half in :56.3 before Ima Beach Diva (Scott Knight) was the first to move from fourth, surging alongside the leader at three-quarters in 1:25.2.

Stonebridge Jade found herself pinned to the pylons in the pocket on the final turn before Ima Beach Diva began to retreat turning for home. At the top of the lane, Stonebridge Jade was able to tip out from behind the leader, chasing down Outlaw Spiced Rum before fending off B On The Hunt (Phil Giesbrecht), who rallied up the passing lane to score by a neck in 1:55.

John Boschman trains and co-owns Stonebridge Jade along with Leonard and Pat McHale. Scoring in her five-year-old debut, the daughter of Bettors Delight-Aria J is now an 11-time winner for her career, banking $82,415 lifetime.
