The Preferred 3 for trotters was a break-filled affair Tuesday evening at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and a well-behaved E L Rock came away with top honours.
Starting from Post 3, E L Rock charged to the lead for driver Nick Steward and together they led the field through fractions of :30.2, 1:01 and 1:29.3. A :30.4 closing quarter earned the gelding the win by a neck over Bella Palazzo. Third prize went to Go Get Bruce. The other five combatants in the $7,500 affair made miscues.
Trainer Britt Kennedy shares ownership on the nine-year-old son of Yankee Glide-Courtney Hall with Karry Howard and Jason Bedell. It was the second win of the season – and the 24th to date – for the career winner of $371,760.
