John MacMillan enjoyed a training triple at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday evening, and in doing so he managed to move into a share of third place

in the track’s standings.

Connected Yankee gave MacMillan his first trip to victory lane thanks to a 1:57.3 score in Race 4. Gord Brown mapped out the winning effort for the gelding, who delivered on his 1-5 pari-mutuel promise. Brown and MacMillan clicked again in Race 9 with Mesmerizer, who went gate-to-wire in a time of 1:56.3 for owner Percy Elkins of Campbellville, ON.

MacMillan completed the hat trick thanks to a come-from-behind tally in Race 14 with Senateur Mirabel. In rein to Gord Brown, who finished the evening with four victories, the four-year-old son of Maccowan Seelster stopped the teletimer in 1:58.1.

The productive night at the office lifted MacMillan’s win total to 13 on the season and 1,083 in his career. The Spencerville, ON horseman has sent out in excess of 100 winners in each of the last six seasons.
