It has been reported that live racing will continue at Assiniboia Downs in Manitoba in 2014.
A report by CTV News has cited officials with the Manitoba Horse Racing Commission as saying that the Manitoba Jockey Club has offered written assurances that ownership of the thoroughbred raceway will not be transferred to the local Peguis First Nation.
In turn, the MJC has been granted a betting licence for 2014.
The article explains that Peguis and the MJC announced a development deal this past December.
