Making his first start for KDM Stables Corp and meet-leading trainer Lou Pena, fan favourite Lets Getit Started rallied from sixth at the top of the stretch to deliver
on his pari-mutuel promise in the $32,000 Invitational Pace Saturday night at Meadowlands Racetrack.
With Internationalstyle (Ron Pierce) driving on at the rail, a parked out Lets Getit Started and Daniel Dube was forced to settled into the pocket past the :27.2 quarter mark.
Down the backstretch, Share The Delight (Yannick Gingras) advanced from third and cleared the lead after the :54.3 half. He remained in control en route the three-quarters in 1:22.1 and into the stretch as Art At Heart (George Brennan) applied pressure on the outside.
Meanwhile, Lets Getit Started was beginning to unleash a :27.2 final frame after being shuffle back to sixth. The five-year-old son of Cole Muffler – Broadway Elite swept up the rail to score by a length and a half, equaling his mark of 1:50.1. Mr Hallowell (David Miller) closed well from last for the runner-up spot while Share The Delight held for third in a four-way photo.
Lets Getit Started returned $6.40 to win as the 2-1 bettor’s choice.
The bay gelding, who is the Meadowlands’ winningest horse of the meet, is now six-for-nine in 2010 with $94,325 earned. His 20th career win pushes his bankroll to $434,616.
