According to an article by Business Week, Great Canadian Gaming Corp., which operates Flamboro, Georgian and Fraser Downs, has cut more than 300 jobs
from its casino workforce and slashed about 50 head office positions.
The report states that it is preparing for even fewer cash-strapped customers to play with their money in a recession.
The reduced staffing levels will be achieved through a combination of attrition and layoffs. The company reported a 55 per cent decline in third-quarter profits last year to $5.7 million.
