Tuesday was all about the ladies at The Raceway at The Western Fair District, as the half-mile oval hosted a set of Preferred events for pacing lasses.

Mc Taylor turned a two-hole trip into a going away victory in the weekly edition of the Fillies & Mares Preferred-2 class for the tandem of driver Trevor Henry and trainer Richard Moreau. Henry had the six-year-old daughter of Camluck-Debutante Willvan on top by a pair of lengths at the quarter pole in :29.4 before Bunny Mach sprinted to the lead on the way to the half. Bunny Mach proceeded to lead the field through middle panels of 1:00.3 and 1:30.3 before being overtaken in the lane by a re-rallying Mc Taylor who pulled away by 1-1/4 lengths over Bunny Mach in 2:01.1. Classy Lane Rose came on strong to finish third.

Sent off at odds of 7-2, Mc Taylor now boasts a 3-1-0 record from nine trips to the track this season. The 20-time winner pushed her lifetime earnings to $252,945 for the Estate of Daniel McCann of Parkhill, ON.

One race earlier in the $8,400 Fillies & Mares Preferred-2 it was Windsun T Bird surviving a first-over journey and scoring by a length in her first start since being claimed by owner/trainer Dave Menary of Cheltenham, ON. The six-year-old daughter of Astreos-Armbro Magnify and driver Trevor Henry watched Boomersbestbet and Ostinato take turns on the lead through early fractions of :29, :59.4 and 1:29.2 before taking over command on the way to the head of the lane. A :30.4 final quarter was more than enough for Windsun T Bird to seal the deal in 2:00.1 over a dead game Ostinato and Pink Kangaroo.

The victory was the fifth of the season in nine tries for Windsun T Bird, who put together a stellar record of 12-7-8 from 50 trips to the track last season. The 25-time winner has racked up career earnings of $158,760.
