Schadt To Make Noise With 'Moinet?'

It has been a few years since trainer Robin Schadt and owner Dana Parham were a regular presence at the Meadowlands, but the duo has made a strong commitment to racing in New Jersey this season.

“I’m stabled at the Meadowlands this time around,” Schadt said. “Dana wanted to play there again. It’s in his blood and he likes the action. We’re going to keep playing the claiming game there and at Yonkers, plus Chester and Pocono Downs when they open.”

On Friday night, Schadt and Parham’s Odds On Racing of Crete, Illinois, will send out Odds On Moinet in the $61,000 final of the Tender Loving Care Series for three-year-old pacing fillies. The daughter of Real Artist will start from Post 9 with George Brennan at the lines. Odds On Moinet got up in the final strides to win the first leg of the Tender Loving Care Series in a career best 1:55.4. She was the runner-up in last week’s second leg, but was disqualified and placed seventh for racing inside the pylons.

“Odds On Moinet was fine when she won the first week, and I don’t like to change equipment when they win,” Schadt said. “It was suggested she didn’t needed a head pole on the right side, so we tried her without it last week. She got boxed in and was disqualified for the pylon violation.

“In the big scheme of things, Post 9 might actually help her [in the final],” she continued. “It’s a big enough purse that they’re going to go pretty good, and it’s a wide open field for the trip to prevail. She trained great and she’s pretty sporty coming into this.”

Odds On Moinet was a $32,000 yearling purchase at Harrisburg.

“I like Real Artist and the dam Aparte,” Schadt said. “We just took a look and the price was right. She’s put together all right. She has no quirks and she’s progressed along great each week, even though it was a slow process. We’ve also got her in the Night Styles and then Pennsylvania Sires Stakes.”
