Howard Hughes N shot the Lightning Lane and overpowered a game Carolina Beach to capture the feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows on Friday (Feb. 24).
Howard Hughes N was shy of the lead in recent weeks, but there was nothing reclusive about the seven-year-old Bettors Delight-Heavenly Franco N gelding on Friday in a $15,400 conditioned pace. He zipped forward for Hunter Myers from post seven, dropped in behind Carolina Beach and outkicked him, downing him by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:52.2. San Domino A finished third.
J.L. Adams trains Howard Hughes N, who now has banked $119,197, for Martin Valentic.
Ridge Warren piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, first post 12:45 p.m.
