Driver Dave Palone inched closer to the 13,000-win plateau thanks to a five-win performance at The Meadows on Tuesday afternoon.

Palone entered the card with 12,885 victories under his belt and more than $71 million in purse earnings.

The resident of Houston, PA was kept out of the win column throughout the first four races, but he guided Beau Jet (1:53.1) to a five-length romp in Race 5 to get the ball rolling. Astro Hershey (1:56.3) gave Palone a round trip to victory lane thanks to a front-stepping score in Race 6.

Caribbean Spur (1:54.2) went coast-to-coast in Race 11 to give Palone the hat trick, and he followed up that victory by sweeping the Late Double wager with Real Attitude (1:54.1) in Race 13 and Curli Cue (2:00.4) in Race 14.

Reaching the 13,000-win plateau would put Palone into an elite group of North American drivers to hit that number. Only Herve Filion (15,174 wins) and Cat Manzi (13,242 wins) belong to that club.
