Fawn De Touch pounced on the dueling leaders in deep stretch and captured Thursday’s (Feb. 23) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,400 conditioned trot.
While Windsong Patriot and Whiskey Blu battled head to head for much of the third quarter, Fawn De Touch took it all in, trotting patiently in seventh. When Brady Brown showed her racetrack in the lane and cut her loose, the five-year-old daughter of Touchdown Town-Nicole Hall overtook the pair in the shadow of the wire, winning in 1:55. Windsong Patriot was a neck back in second with Whiskey Blu third.
Miles Wollam owns and trains Fawn De Touch, who now has banked $128,594 in her career.
Hunter Myers, Dave Palone, Ridge Warren and Brown joined trainers Stacey Currie and Jacob Fox with doubles on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (Feb. 24) when the 13-race program features a carryover of $1,840.36 in the Early Pentafecta (Race 4). That has prompted The Meadows and the United States Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Initiative to guarantee the pool at $5,000.00. First post is 12:45 p.m. (EST).
