Both top performers in their respective sports, NBA star Nikola Jokić and Hall of Fame driver Tim Tetrick have formed a friendship bonded by horses.
“He loves horses more than he does basketball," said Tetrick in an article by The Denver Post chronicling his camaraderie with the Denver Nuggets center, whose passion for harness racing has been well-documented. "You can see his passion in his eyes every time he’s gotten to go to the track with me or the farm. It’s kinda like when I go to a game, or get to go down to the locker room with him, I’ve got stars in my eyes, and he’s like, ‘You’re an idiot, this is boring. Let’s go back to the track.’”
The article provides an inside look into their friendly banter, sharing how the two connected several years ago and have spent time at local racetracks and training farms, with Jokić enjoying time in the jog cart.
"He wants to trade me my job, and I'm like, 'I'll trade you your job," said Tetrick. "'You've got my dream job,' he always tells me."
