Sent the odds-on favourite, Wildwild Men took control early and kicked clear to a three-and-a-half length victory in the $8,500 Preferred 3 Trot, winning in 1:58 at Flamboro Downs on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Driver Robert Shepherd sent the Isabelle Darveau trainee left from post four, grabbing the front and progressing to a :28.1 opening quarter. Unchallenged through a :58 half, Wildwild Men endured mild first-over pressure from Muscle Ave approaching three-quarters. The uncovered challenger was two lengths off the tempo setter at three-quarters in 1:27.4 before Wildwild Men gained separation around the final turn.

Opening a three-length lead into the stretch, Wildwild Men coasted to the line, while Excellence shot through the passing lane for second and Muscle Ave held third.

A five-year-old gelding by Muscle Mass out of the Angus Hall mare Seeyouinthecircle, Wildwild Men, owned by Catheline Pelletier, won his 15th race in 52 starts, earning $185,845. He paid $3.70 to win.
