Winning races is nothing new to Billy “Zeke” Parker, Jr. And driving titles; he’s had a plethora of them in his illustrious career - 17 alone at Monticello Raceway

. And even at age 56, Zeke can handle himself with the best of them and he is always a force to be reckoned with.

There were times over the years when he scored nine victories races on a 10-race card; and he’s won six and seven six races on a single program many times during his calling.

So winning five races on the President’s Day race card at Monticello Raceway is like just another day at the office for Parker. His assault on Monday afternoon started when he scored a 2:03:1 trotting victory with Call For Grace ($20.20) in the third race. He then won the sixth race with Penn Tag ($3.60) in 2:02:1 and came right back to cop the seventh behind Shania Twain ($23.00) in 1:59:1. Win number four on the card was in the ninth race was with trotter Millbrook Mille ($30.80) in 2:01:2 and Parker capped his day with another longshot victory with Notimefordreaming ($17.60) in 2:01:1.

Now with 37 wins at the current meet it’s unusual for Parker’s winners to pay double figures. With the five that he scored today the bearded wonder now has 10,271 career driving victories, ninth best all-time. He still trails last season’s champ and current leader Bruce Aldrich, Jr. by 12 wins.

At the end of the day Parker was asked if he looking to take the crown back to which he modestly replied “Nah, I just had a good day.”
