Santanna's former driver and syndicate member Jody Jamieson told Trot Insider that a deal to sell the Art Major - Mmissus Hanover stallion fell through at the last minute. Santanna Blue Chip was the richest 2-year-old pacer of 2007, capturing both the Breeders Crown and the Governor's Cup.
The $1.5 million winner bred a solid book of 116 mares in 2009, including the dams of Higher And Higher and Twin B Champ. Santanna Blue Chip stands at Emerald Ridge Farm in Rockwood, Ont. through Kentuckiana Farms at a stud fee of $4,000 and has already attracted the likes of past O'Brien Award winner Lady Dilinger to his court for 2010.
