Deep Finesse Sold, U.S.-Bound

According to a report by the Atlantic Post Calls, Maritime Triple Crown winner Deep Finesse has been sold to owners that race at Dover Downs in Delaware

The three-year-old Western Paradise colt won 15 of 18 freshman starts, banked $85,623 and took a mark of 1:56.3 over the half-mile oval at Charlottetown Driving Park.

Pinkney confirmed to the Atlantic Post Calls that the colt is scheduled to ship out to the United States today. “I was offered a price I really couldn’t afford not to take,” said Pinkney, who didn't have any previous intention of selling the colt.

Deep Finesse was the winningest two-year-old on the continent in '08, including victories in his final 14 starts of the campaign. The colt's $85,600 in freshman pursues is the most money a two-year-old Maritime-bred has ever banked.
