Kendra Bogle of Milton, Ontario, is our February Heart of Harness Racing Calendar photographer.
Bogle, who has worked for trainer Tony O’Sullivan for three and a half years, took this shot of Dees Rocketman at Classy Lane Training Centre in Puslinch, Ontario, last September.
Dees Rocketman enjoyed his time off after his two-year-old season and is starting to jog back. Bogle has acquired three two-year-olds that she will be working with this year including Nachomama Blue Chip, Sports Anchor and Stonebridge Laser.
“There is something so fulfilling about seeing the horses start their careers in your care and seeing them grow into race horses,” she explains.
Kendra has had several of her photos published by The I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club. She took a shot of Dalhousie Dave that was published in the 2013 Heart of Harness Racing Calendar and captured a true Kodak moment of Shes Da Bomb that was used in one of the Fan Club’s inspirational posters last year.
Kendra has always been involved in art, from painting and sketching, to sculpting and photography. She took photography classes in high school.
Kendra has been involved in harness racing for the last 12 years, and has worked for Ron Waples, Cal Campbell and Joe Stutzman before becoming part of the O’Sullivan team. She’s been around horses since she was three when her Aunt Pat (Cater) sat her on her world champion trail horse, Leo Sands, for the first time. Kendra says she’s been hooked ever since.
