Fifteen fillies tussled in a set of $12,500 divisions of the Tender Loving Care Series at the Meadowlands Racetrack on Thursday evening, with Gottaseeaboutagirl and Winning It winning their respective first round assignments

In rein to David Miller, Gottaseeaboutagirl got away fourth and watched Perfect Pose, Terror To Cam and race favourite Jamie Sue take turns on the lead through first-half fractions of :28.3 and :58.2. Jamie Sue was the leader heading into the final turn, but Gottaseeaboutagirl was mounting a serious-looking first-over charge.

Those two battled to the three-quarter pole in 1:27.2, and after sprinting together through the lane it was Gottaseeaboutagirl whose :27-second closing speed earned her the head decision over Jamie Sue. Third prize went to Perfect Pose.

Bob rice trains the daughter of Western Terror-Minnie Driver for Michael Horn, Charles Bonham and Alexander Rice, Sr. The victory improved the sophomore’s record to 2-1-0 in three tries, and the lion’s share of the purse boosted her earnings to $11,125.

Yannick Gingras showed no mercy to the competition in the second division as noted by the driving-away score with Winning It. The daughter of Dragon Again-Day After Day sat third while Polar Opposition threw down an opening quarter clocked in :27.4. Gingras was out and driving in the backstretch with Winning It, and in a matter of strides she was in charge of the tempo. She hit the half in a tepid clip of :59 before picking up her speed on the way to the three-quarter pole in 1:27.2. A final quarter clocked in :26.4 earned Winning It the six-length triumph over Air Guitar Hanover, with Tollfree Hanover taking home the show dough.

Ron Burke trains the undefeated lass, who was making her first start of the season after going 3-for-3 as a rookie, for Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and The Panhellenic Stb Corp. She’s stashed away $15,575 to date.

Round two of the series goes Thursday, February 9, with the $60,000 (est) final scheduled for Friday, February 17.
