Jiffy Lee completed a sweep of the Be My Valentine Series on Saturday afternoon at Kawartha Downs, giving her a perfect five-for-five record on the year

Claimed for $6,250 by trainer John Macmillan and Frank Stacey in the second leg of the series, Jiffy Lee was assigned the nine-post in the $10,000 final. Driven by Fred Brethour, the eight-year-old mare got away fifth but came charging three-deep around Austins Minnie (Barry Treen) past the third quarter mark to prevail over pacesetter Joint Effort (Pat Hudon) by three-quarters of a length. The winning time was 1:58.4. Second leg winner Sauble Lt finished third.
Jiffy Lee paid $5.30 to win as the 3-2 favourite. The daughter of Village Jiffy-Lee Ann Holly, a career winner of 27 races, has won $144,452 lifetime.
