Bertos Angel made it back-to-back wins in the $10,000 Open Trot at Buffalo Raceway Friday night

Bertos Angel ($7.10), leaving from Post 8 and driven by reinsman Kevin Cummings, left alertly and settled in third as Dukecrest (Keith Kash, Jr.) hit the quarter-mile marker in :29.3, and the half in :59. Down the backstretch the second time, Bertos Angel pulled first over and collared the leader just past the 1:30 three-quarter pole. At the top of the stretch, the former Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots champion was on top by one length and maintained that margin to score ahead of Perfect Man (Dave McNeight III) in 2:01.2. Tymal Recap (Dan Noble) finished third.
The five-year-old Ken Warkentin mare, out of the Incredible Abe mare Spark Of Abbey, notched her third win this season in four starts for trainer Lisa Lederhouse and owner Scott D. Woogen of Mechanicsville, Virginia.
The $5,000 share of the winning purse put Bertos Angel’s season bankroll at $16,200 while her lifetime bankroll climbed to $213,110.
