Tender Loving Care Series Continues

Angel From Above pulled off a 22-1 shocker in the opening division for owner/trainer Johnny Waite of Camden, Delaware. The daughter of Bettors Delight-Jett Away rallied home in :27.2 to win by a narrow margin in 1:56.1. Ron Pierce mapped out the winning trip for the filly, who defeated Day Lily Hanover, who was third placed second. Cee Q was fourth placed third. Race favourite Odds On Monet finished second but was placed seventh for a violation of the pylon rule.

The victory was the first of the season in just two attempts for Angel From Above, who is now a two-time winner in 13 lifetime starts. She has banked $18,532 to date.

Fox Valley Dazzle was a 5-1 spoiler in the second division for the Miller brothers – trainer Erv and driver Andy. The Richess Hanover-Duncans Sister miss enjoyed a ground-saving trip for most of the mile before sprinting home in :26.2 en route to halting the teletimer in 1:55.3. She surged past The Assassinator in the closing strides to post her second win in as many tries. Race favourite Tryst, who was unbeaten in her first three starts, set most of the pace before fading to finish third.

Hannah Miller of Sherman, IL and Tony Alagna of Steger, IL share ownership on the youngster, who broke her maiden in a time of 1:59 at Freehold Raceway earlier this month.

The $61,000 final of the Tender Loving Care Series is slated for Friday, February 26 at the Meadowlands.
