On Monday (Feb. 17), Lass Shot returned victorious in the $12,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Raceway at the Western Fair District for the second straight week.
Treasured Tee (Jason Ryan) took command of the field throughout the mile with splits in :29.2, 1:00.2, and 1:30.3. Lass Shot and Garrett Rooney got away fourth at the opening panel, moved first over through the half, and achieved second from the outside by a neck at the three-quarters. Down the stretch, Lass Shot advanced past the leader and went on to score by two lengths in 2:01.1. Treasured Tee finished second and Marvin Hagler (Austin Sorrie) completed the triactor.
Lass Shot is owned and trained by Brittany Kennedy. The eight-year-old daughter of Archangel - Dream On Bernie won her third straight race and her 31st career race from 111 starts. She now shows $210,435 in lifetime earnings. She paid $3.20 to win as the bettors' choice.
