The four-year-old Kadabra stallion Ten Four We Gone grabbed command early and withstood all challenges to narrowly win the $8,800 featured trot at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Wednesday (Feb. 17).

Driver Marc St. Louis Jr. sent the Victor Puddy trainee for the front from post 5 and took command moving to a :30.3 opening quarter. Hey Arch, away third, angled first over heading to the half as Ten Four We Gone slowed the tempo to a 1:02.2 clocking.

Up the backside Hey Arch applied continued pressure on Ten Four We Gone, coming within a neck of the lead to three-quarters in 1:32. Off the wide trip, Hey Arch gave way into the final turn, opening a seam for Rose Run Unclebuck to pop pocket and take aim at the leader late. Through a contested stretch drive, Ten Four We Gone kept a head in front of Rose Run Unclebuck to win in 2:02.4. Mr Arch closed for third.

Co-owned by Puddy with Wayne Mac Rae and Howmac Farms Ltd., Ten Four We Gone won his seventh race from 22 starts, earning $41,444. He paid $9.70 to win.
