Woodbine Entertainment announced on Wednesday, Feb. 16 that all slots for the 2022 Mohawk Million have been sold and the $1 million race for two-year-old trotters will be contested on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The deadline to submit a purchase agreement for the Mohawk Million was Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Woodbine received purchase agreements from nine different groups or individuals to participate in this year’s race. A $50,000 (CAD) payment was required with the purchase agreement and all slot purchasers will now have until June 1 to submit the remaining $50,000 (CAD) of the $100,000 slot fee.
The slot owners will be revealed by the end of the month once all stakes payments from the February 15 closing have been received and processed.
The 10th and final slot in the Mohawk Million will be awarded to the winner of the William Wellwood Memorial, which is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 27.
