Western Fair Awards Presented

The Raceway at the Western Fair District honoured its top performers from 2012 during the annual awards night on Saturday, February 16 at the Carousel Room at the London, Ont. raceway.

The evening's event, featuring a James Bond theme, included a reception, dinner, dancing and the awards presentation.

Trevor Henry took top honours in the Driver category after a career year during which he topped the local and national standings for wins. The 41-year-old Arthur, Ont. horseman won 533 races in 2013 and banked a personal best $3.43 million in purses.

Richard Moreau took the Trainer award after a career-year of his own. The 48-year-old resident of Puslinch, Ont. led the nation with 344 wins while banking more than $3.66 million in purses.

Henry, older trotter Indiana Hall and older female trotter Just One Day all took home awards for the second straight year.

The annual Walltyme Stable Lifetime Achievement Award was the lone surprise category of the night, and this year went to the husband and wife team of Scott and Kim McNiven.
