Six-year-old pacer Libertys Best Star continued his climb up the claiming ranks on Friday night as he scored his sixth straight victory at Woodbine Racetrack.

This is the second time the son of Cammibest has put together a six-race win streak in his career. He also won six in a row during the summer of 2011 in his sophomore season.

In Friday's eighth race for $8,000 claimers, Jonathan Drury sent Libertys Best Star to the lead from post seven over slight 6-5 favourite First Impression (Sylvain Filion) through a :27-second opening quarter. After being parked through the first panel, second choice Libertys Best Star fronted the field through middle splits of :56.2 and 1:24.4 en route to the 1:53.3 triumph. First over Beeeyouuuuuu (Phil Hudon) finished one length behind in second with a locked in First Impression following in third.

Libertys Best Star, who is now seven-for-eight on the year with $16,900 banked in purses, paid $4.60 to win.

He was claimed for $5,000 midway through his current streak on Jan. 26 at Flamboro Downs by Jonah Moase of Cornwall, P.E.I. and again on Friday for $8,000 by Julie Ferguson of Greely, Ont.

Thomas Riley was the winning trainer.
