Mystra Marches To Win In Dover Feature

Mystra, a frequent visitor to the Dover Downs winner’s circle, did it again winning Tuesday’s $23,000 Mares Open

.

With Brad Hanners at the controls, Mystra held off strong charges from runners-up Im Won Wine Wiser (George Dennis) and race favourite No Bad Luck (Montrell Teague). Foulk Racing Stables own the Art Major-Pastrami Hanover seven-year-old trained by Trish Foulk. It was her second win of the year in five starts. She has now banked $28,750 in 2012.

The Joe Hundertpfund Stable was active with three members making the winner’s circle. Tim Hundertpfund’s Village Bolero topped off the trio as Ross Wolfenden hustled The Panderosa-Village Baroque seven-year-old to her second win of the year recording a 1:53.1 verdict in the $16,500 Mares Winners-Over pace sub-feature. VC Atom N (Vince Copeland) had the lead in the stretch before yielding nearing the wire. Tryst (Ron Pierce) picked up third-place money.

Tony Morgan’s magic number of 14,000 career wins is now only three wins away, after Rolltideroll came on for a 1:53.3 victory in a $15,000 conditioned pace. Sam and M.R. Jacobs, Ron Reed and Crissman Inc. own the four-year-old daughter of Jennas Beach Boy-Shakenithelimit four-year-old. Raquel (Ron Pierce) took second in front of RBs Girl (Tim Curtin).
