If you were handicapping Monticello Raceway on Wednesday (Feb. 13) and decided to factor Austin Siegelman-driven charges into your selections, it’s safe to say that you probably came away from things a happy punter.
Siegelman made trips to the winner’s circle after half of Monticello’s 10 Wednesday dashes.
In a recent profile piece on the young reinsman, Siegelman said, “I want to win every race that I’m in. It’s a tough pill to swallow that I can’t.”
The Rick Dane Jr.-trained Brandos Muscle Man ($13.00) got things going for Siegelman on Wednesday with a wire to wire effort from Post 7. Siegleman’s other Wednesday victories came aboard Virtuous Dragon ($15.40- 1:58.2) A And C Artist ($1:59.2 - $6.70), Ironbarbassy ($3.80 – 1:59.2) and Law Of Attraction ($9.00 – 2:00.2).
The 26-year-old Siegelman is currently in fourth place at the track in the leading dash-winning drivers rankings and sports a respectable UDR of .298.
