Four Starz Horndog bounced back with a victory tonight in the $28,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace at Woodbine Racetrack after her three-race win streak was snapped last Friday night in the Open Pace

by Ardor Locke, who was competing in the Horseplayer Interactive Stakes.

Driven by Sylvain Filion, the even-money favourite got away seventh from Post 6 with only the early breaker, Call Me Yours (Jason Brewer), trailing her.

Outside starter Voelz Hanover (Mario Baillargeon) flashed early gate speed and took control of the field in the early going. She let Pancleefandarpels (Randy Waples) clear past the :28.3 opening mark before moving out for the re-take.

Voelz Hanover raced to the half in :58 and three-quarters in 1:26.4 while Four Starz Horndog followed cover in the form of Smashbox (Jody Jamieson).

Voelz Hanover held her lead as they turned for home but Smashbox pressed on and took over with an eighth of a mile to go. She could not hold off a late surge from Four Starz Horndog, however. The Richard Moreau trainee sprinted off cover to prevail by one length in 1:54.2. Smashbox (Jody Jamieson) was second and Blissful Smile (Jack Moiseyev) was third.

Four Starz Horndog is now three-for-four in 2011 with over $48,000 earned for owners Sylvain Descheneaux and Gaston Bibeau of Sorel-Tracy and Eric Bibeau of Ste-Victoire-De-Sorel, Que. The six-year-old daughter of Four Starzzz Shark-Four Starzzzz Pass boasts 21 wins on her lifetime record and earnings totalling $287,297.

Four Starz Horndog paid $4.30 to win.
