No Doze Upsets In Preferred Trot

No Doze unleashed a powerful first-over bid that carried him to a 10-1 upset victory in Tuesday’s $18,000 Preferred Trot at The Meadows.

No Doze was sitting third for Brett Miller near the three-quarters when he set sail after the leader, Run And Tell Pap. He gobbled that one up and held off the Lightning Lane charge of Three Crow Mo to defeat him by a neck in 1:55.1. TSM Photo Bugger rallied for show.

Miles Wollam trains No Doze, an eight-year-old Striking Sahbra-Annandale gelding who now boasts $325,860 in career earnings, and owns with Renna Wollam.

Aaron Merriman drove three winners on the 15-race card.

Wednesday’s Pick 5 at The Meadows will feature a rich Pick 5 pool sweetened by a four-day carryover of $24,762.37. Spanning races 11-15, Wednesday’s Pick 5 promises to be a tough challenge for players, as it includes four highly competitive trotting events.

The Pick 5 at The Meadows offers a minimum wager of 50 cents, although by law in Pennsylvania, the minimum total wager is $2. A consolation is paid if no ticket correctly picks all five winners. First post is 12:55 p.m., with Race 11 expected to go at about 3:45 p.m.
