Coming Fashion Upsets In London Feature

Coming Fashion made no mistakes off a perfect trip, rolling past Marvin Hagler to score at 16-1 in the featured $9,000 high-level conditioned trot at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Coming Fashion initially started third as favourite R Royal Port (Austin Sorrie) fired away from post three and pocketed Marvin Hagler (Brett MacDonald), but the early leader broke stride on the first turn. Marvin Hagler inherited control and went unpressured through fractions of :29.3, 1:00.4 and 1:31. Donnie Rankin summoned Coming Fashion from the pylons at the bottom of the final turn, and the gelding rushed by Marvin Hagler by to prevail by a half-length in 2:02. Yes (Samuel Fillion) closed up the inside and nabbed second over Marvin Hagler.

The win for Coming Fashion, his second of the year in five starts, came with a step up in class following a victory at a lower level on Feb. 4. Randy Fulmer trains the son of Crescent Fashion-Here Comes Annie, and the LaSalle, Ont. resident shares ownership with Phillip Katcher of Madison, Mississippi. The gelding has won 26 times and earned $153,811 in 122 career outings. He returned $34.90 to win.
