It was a profitable weekend at Woodbine Racetrack for trainer Carmen Auciello, who celebrated three-win performances on back-to-back cards.
Auciello enjoyed a Friday evening hat trick, and matched that feat just 24 hours later during Saturday’s 10-race card.
The win parade began in Race 3 when new recruit, Holiday Party, cruised to a 1:55.2 victory versus claiming trotters. Jonathan Drury mapped out the winning trip for the Auciello trainee.
The class-dropping Exhilarated gave Auciello consecutive wins thanks to her gate-to-wire score in Race 4 for driver Jody Jamieson. The daughter of Mach Three halted the teletimer in 1:51.4 – the quickest race on the card.
Bugger Bruiser’s front-stepping tally in Race 9 completed the hat trick for Auciello, and it gave driver Jonathan Drury his second trip to victory lane. The gelding ended up winning by a length in 1:55.2.
After a slow start to the season – just nine wins in the first five weeks of racing – Auciello has posted six wins in the last 48 hours. A winner of 1,028 races to date, Auciello is quickly closing in on $15 million in career earnings.
